Steamed Garlic Broccoli

2 heads of broccoli
2 cups of water
Salt
Pepper
4 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Chop and prepare broccoli into smaller pieces. Place broccoli in a skillet with 2 cups of water. Season with salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Cover and steam for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and add butter, garlic, and parmesan. Combine until melted.

In ancient times, people believed that there was a vein in the finger on the left hand that ran straight to the heart. Ancient Romans called this vein the vena amoris, Latin for “vein of love.” They believed that by placing a ring on this finger, the affections would be bound and could not escape through the fingertips.
